Who am I? That's a question I have spent years trying to answer... and this is what I've come up with so far...
I am a daughter of the King, the Lion, on a journey to make the most of every moment. My deepest desire is to be "salt and light" (Matthew 5:13-16) in a dark and bland world. Though a life spent pursuing God is not an easy path to take, I have found many sources of inspiration. “The Lion Chaser’s Manifesto” (on my Home page) is one of them. My dad read it during a Sunday school class several years ago and it really stuck with me. I felt convicted to make more of the time God gives me. However, I did not know what “making the most of time” looked like. It started to become more clear when I began planning a semester of study abroad and I learned the importance of looking out instead of looking in.
In the world we live in, it is so easy to look in on ourselves. We see our imperfections, our pain, our schedule, our areas of pride, our insecurity, our fatigue, our questions. I found myself in this place… my vision darkened by the narrow focus of all the “my”s, “me”s, and “I”s. Then I heard one of the study abroad coordinators talk about looking out, and I tried it. Wow… I have missed a lot in all the time I’ve spent looking in.
So, this site is about my quest to chase The Lion… to learn how to make the most of time, look out, shine bright, and add some flavor to every part of the world I touch. People call me Katie, but I’m really a salty, glowing, wide-eyed Lion chaser. :)

"You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot. You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven." - Matthew 5:13-16 (NIV)
